What to Expect From CW’s Batwoman

Season 1 of Batwoman will air on October 6th. The season is co produced by David Nutter (who did a great job with the first couple of Game of Thrones Season 8 episodes).

Batwoman is set in a Gotham where Batman has abandoned it and crime is rising. Kate Kane (played by Ruby Rose) is our caped crusader and she has some big shoes to fill.

The CW’s official description of the show:

“Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane (star Ruby Rose) soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.”

Season 1 will focus on Kate Kane getting used to her new role as Batwoman. It will be hugely character driven (like most of Cw’s Arrowverse) so we will get to know a lot about this new hero.

Batwoman is certainly coming in now to take Arrow’s place as the darker, grittier show in the Arrowverse (Gotham is a perfect setting for that), so we can expect plenty of brooding out of windows and darker themes in the storyline.

Also, we will see Batwoman in this season’s crossover event, Crisis on Infinite Earths, making for a huge cast of heroes battling together.

I will be reviewing all episodes of Supergirl, Arrow, The Flash, and Batwoman as they all begin this October. Keep updated by subscribing or following this site!
