Renee Knight knows how to drag you through a story, desperately clinging onto any information which might hold the answer to the mystery. I was hooked from the premise, and then I got to know the characters. They were all so perfectly depicted, but Knight shattered my perceptions and rebuilt them completely, several times over. Just when I thought I knew what was going on, she would prove me wrong within a couple of chapters.
This novel reminded me of Gone Girl; a mystery that doesn’t add up until close to the end with one simple chapter. It was hard-hitting and had me glued to the pages until I’d finished.
Wonderfully written, and structured in a way that told the story from the past and present seamlessly. A riveting story with strong, interesting characters that held their own in a mystery of lies and deceit.
