The Lost Hero (Heroes of Olympus #1) by Rick Riordan: A Review

My Review
Rating: 5/5
I have had this series of books lying on my shelves since they came out but I never got round to reading them. I’m so glad I did.
This first book in the series follows a new hero character, Jason, who is the son of Jupiter. Riordan’s genius idea of introducing the Roman Gods as the split personality of the Greek Gods is incredible and such a brilliant creation. It gives so much more depth and character/plot development to this world and it makes the previous series look hollow in comparison (even though it’s one of my favourite book series).
I was presently surprised by the multiple view-points and thought that it added to the depth of narrative. I love all the new characters. They all have their own brilliantly funny, emotional, and individual voices which is fantastic.
I loved the original series and I was not disappointed with the new one either which is both surprising and wonderful!
