The Novice (Black Magician #2) by Trudi Canavan: A Review

Sonea has joined the Magician’s Guild but the students around her are from powerful families and she’s from the slums however she knows that she can turn to Rothen and Dannyl for support when she needs it. Vicious rumours about her throughout the Guild so the High Lord, Akkarin, steps in.
Lord Dannyl leaves for the Elyne court as the newly appointed Guild Ambassador however his real mission is kept a secret; to continue Lord Akkarin’s research into ancient magical knowledge, but there are dangers he never thought to expect.
Sonea’s knowledge of the High Lord’s secret is almost forgotten but keeping the secret hidden may be a serious mistake.
My Review
Rating: 4.5/5
This second magical novel in the black magician trilogy by Trudi Canavan asks so many more questions which aren’t answered and I love this! The intrigue Canavan has imposed in my mind is inescapable and I’m pondering over the history of Kyralia, wondering how things happened and came to be. I am very excited for the final book of this incredible trilogy.
