My Review

My Rating: 5/5

This novel follows the adventures of Bilbo Baggins, a hobbit from the shire. He joins Gandalf and a company of Dwarves to retake their home from the dragon Smaug.
Full of fun and adventure, this tale is a perfect introduction to this world and the story of the end of the Third Age in Arda.
I read this book after reading The Lord of the Rings trilogy (I know! The horror!!), but because of this I got to see what happened to Frodo’s elder relative on his adventures and I got to see middle-earth from the perspective of yet another hobbit, which is brilliantly fun but also heartwarming with their bravery.
A children’s classic and favourite, but also an adults insight into a tiny part of a humongous world and its history, this will forever be a favourite.
